Abstract

The article highlights the current conceptual and methodological foundations of translation studies as a field of interdisciplinary research. The evolution of translation studies concepts in the light of the processes of global integration and digitalization is investigated. The importance of technological achievements in the work of translation specialists is revealed and innovative professional abilities are identified that are vital for effective professional activity. Considerable attention is focused on the challenges of harmonizing the domestic translation studies school with global trends in the development of the industry. Innovative methods of improving the professional training of future translators are presented in accordance with the transformed requirements of the professional environment. Strategic vectors for the development of translation studies in the field of interdisciplinary interaction with cognitive sciences, cultural studies and digital technologies are outlined. The significance of translation activities in the processes of intercultural dialogue and the construction of national self-identification is highlighted. A comparative analysis of classical and innovative strategies for translating fiction, scientific works, and highly specialized materials has been carried out. The results of the study argue for the feasibility of a comprehensive approach to the modernization of the field of translation studies in the Ukrainian context.
