LANGUAGE AND SONG AS FACTORS OF NATIONAL IDENTITY OF UKRAINIANS

Abstract

The article reveals the desire of Ukrainians to restore their statehood, the importance of the Ukrainian language in the revival of the nation. It is worth noting that the basis of any ethnic group is language, which defines the national identity as a feature. Folk songs played a very important role in the history of Ukraine. Today, their study is relevant in our time, when hostilities are taking place with the invader, which previously promoted itself as a "brotherly people". The Ukrainian song gives an opportunity to understand important problems in the life of the state, to ask acute questions about the further development of our country. The proposed study revealed the role of language and song in establishing the national identity of Ukrainians, in particular during the period of the modern Russian-Ukrainian war. To achieve the goal of our scientific work, it is necessary to solve the following tasks: describe the variety of newly created songs by subject, trace their affinity with ancient songs; to reveal their influence on Ukrainians of different social and age groups; determine the artistic and aesthetic value of modern war songs. The paper clarifies the role of the Ukrainian language and song in reviving the self-awareness of modern Ukrainians, ordinary citizens and creative people, who understood their belonging to a people with a centuries-old history of defending the right to their own state, an independent choice of the future, free from stereotypes, such as "the only path of two brotherly nations." The first attempt was made to group some of the newest songs according to their theme, to compare them with historical samples of the song heritage of previous generations, to reveal their kinship, which confirms the unity of aspirations, vision of the future and ways of its construction. The work reveals the role of Ukrainian artists and public figures in spreading the state language as a component of general culture in strengthening national unity, passing on traditions, customs, spiritual values, and worldview. Such methods as system-structural, comparative analysis, the method of ideographic parameterization and dialectical with a system-structural approach are used. Therefore, the national song is the source that will provide an opportunity to improve the patriotic mood of the Ukrainian people, which will make our Motherland invincible and invincible.
