Abstract

This article describes the characteristics (phonetic, morphological and lexical) of related rituals in the dialects of the Podillia-Bukovina-Naddnistria border region, as recorded during fieldwork. The specific nature of the subject under investigation requires a systematic approach to the literature and source material, as well as the use of descriptive, comparative-historical, analytical and synthetic methods. The study demonstrates that the Podillia dialect is heterogeneous, and its distinctive features are recorded in the most widespread lexical group – the vocabulary of family rituals. The study presents the lexicon of the Western Podillia dialects, which makes it possible to establish the external boundaries of the Podillia dialect – between the Eastern Podillia and Western Podillia dialects, the Western Podillia and Upper Dniester dialects, and the Western Podillia and Bukovina dialects. It has been established that the Podillia dialects still require detailed research through the documentation and study of various lexical-thematic groups.
