This article emphasizes the significance of phraseological expressions that involve numbers. Phraseological units are often considered the most challenging lexical category to translate, due to various reasons. It discusses the primary methods of translating and reproducing phrases that contain numerical components. The authors explore different approaches to translating English phraseological expressions and identify the most widely used methods for reproducing them. The main dominant techniques for translating phraseological units with a number component are full and partial equivalent translation, word-for-word translation and descriptive translation. The analysis reveals that word-for-word and descriptive translations are not effective methods when translating phraseological units. The text also includes a brief analysis of phraseological units that contain numbers. Additionally, this work provides new information for translators on how to choose specific idioms with numerals for translation between different languages. It is interesting to study phraseological units with numbers to identify their etymological and structural-semantic features, as well as to study the tendencies of semantic possibilities of quantitative units at the functional level in translation. Phraseological units with numerals are characterized by their inherent integrity, reproducibility, and relative stability of structural elements. Components of phraseological units with a numeral can be semantically modified in whole or in part during the translation process. The meaning of numerals in phraseological combinations is significantly influenced by the components of the context, their intersection, and inclusion in the semantics of the whole combination. Numerals in phraseological combinations mostly relate to real facts and indicate their accurate or approximate characteristics.
