Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the factors that influence the change of accent in the Ukrainian dialect space. It is noted that in Ukrainian linguistics, researchers have recorded the features of verbal stress in linguistic-territorial formations, using different approaches. In particular, they compared dialectal with literary stress, identified modern accent types with Proto-Slavic accent paradigms, described dialectal stress, evaluating speech as a self-sufficient object for analysis.

Today, the question of a systematic study of a set of factors that determine the direction of accent changes is natural. It is known that there is no universal reason for changing the verbal emphasis. It is emphasized that it is very difficult to formulate the rules of movement of word-changing accent in different grammatical classes in many cases, because today many accent are used according to tradition, their motivation, according to Y.V. Shevelyov, should be searched in the system of the Proto-Slavic language.

As a result of the study, external and internal factors that provoke a change of accent are identified. It is concluded that certain factors help to understand the dynamic processes in the accent system, characterize the direction of stress, and also allow to establish causal relationships, because the analyzed factors indicate the formation of certain tendencies of stress, which are phenomena of linguistic evolution in ukrainian expanse or operate in certain dialects, dialects, dialects, certain trends will help to understand the functioning of the accentuation norm.
