GENRE PECULIARITY AND THEMATIC DIVERSITY OF YANUSH-LEON VYSHNEVSKYI’S NOVEL«SAMOTNIST U MEREZHI»

Abstract

There has been analysed the novel of Yanush-LeonVyshnevskyi «Samotnist u merezhi» on genre and thematic level. The novel is mentioned to be psychological, the one to study and represent a delicate human’s soul. The problems of a person’s estrangement in virtual reality, personal and family happiness, relations between parents and children, faithful love, belief and religion, historical memory etc. are the author’s objects. The plot develops in a circle, having a lot of artistic details, firstly appearing insignificant, unimportant, imperceptible and even excessive, are important for the text perception.

The contents of the text is in modern, epistolary genre, which refers the demands of the time. The events happen in two realities – real and virtual (Internet network). Thus, Ya. Vushnevskyi is trying to persuade the reader that the absence of ingenious personal contact makes the interlocutors to focus not on physical, but spiritual perception of each other. The important elements of the text are the following genre peculiarities: unexpected beginning, and ending of the speech, situation, unfinished utterance and respond  «question – answer», a peculiar arrangement of chronotopos with the time being a moment and space being unlimited. Facts about biography, the descriptions of lifestyles, habits, and personal appearance, the attempts to understand inner world of each other through past events, conversations about abstract notions and personal experience are peculiar content of the novel. The author gives his own evaluation of virtual world, not existing separately, but interfering real people’s life, changing it, via messaging in the network.

Ya. Vyshnevskyi describes in the novel the relations between two adults, living indifferent countries: He – in Germany, but She – in Poland, different professionally, but «date» in the Internet via software ICQ.
