FORMATION OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES AT THE LESSONS OF THE EDUCATIONAL DISCIPLINE "WORKSHOP ON THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE"

Abstract

The article analyzes the experience of studying the educational discipline "Workshop on the Ukrainian language" by applicants for a bachelor's degree in specialty 014 Secondary education (Ukrainian language and literature) at the Mykhailo Stelmakh Faculty of Philology and Journalism Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky State Pedagogical University of Vinnytsia in the aspect of forming their professional competencies. The directions of learning the content of the educational discipline have been determined; innovative methods of forming professional competences of the future philologist have been proposed. Attention is paid to the importance of individual work in learning orthographic and punctuation norms of modern Ukrainian language.

"Workshop on the Ukrainian language" is one of the first linguistic disciplines, which is studied by applicants for the degree of bachelor of philological specialties and the importance of which cannot be reduced, because the successful learning of it provides a reliable basis for learning other disciplines of the linguistic cycle.

The analysis of scientific and methodological literature and the level of professional skills of students at universities shows that the concept of forming spelling and punctuation competences of future Ukrainian language teachers needs to be supplemented. The text in the lessons on "Workshop on the Ukrainian language" is used as didactic material which provides understanding of language units, first of all, lexico-semantic and grammatical levels of the language system, learning the regularities of functioning of different levels of language components, allows to begin forming the system of linguistic concepts in the first-year students.
