The study's relevance is due to the growing attention of modern researchers to the study of the intensive use vocabulary, its features of formation and functioning, i.e. functional and stylistic features of English slang.
The purpose of the research is to study the main peculiarities of intensive use vocabulary formation and functioning. It also was significant to single out the functional and stylistic features of African-American slang in rap texts.
The object of research is the vocabulary of intensive use.
The research subject is the functional and stylistic features of African American slang in modern English rap texts.
The purpose and objectives of the study led to the use of such methods as lexicographic, comparative, descriptive and stylistic experiment methods.
The practical significance of the work is determined by the possibility of applying its results in linguistics, translation studies, and English stylistics.
